Sindika, derived from the Bantu word meaning “Send” or “Push,” is a money remittance application developed by AfroPay. The application aims to facilitate seamless multi-national transactions specifically targeting access to Uganda.

Sindika offers digital wallets in USD, with plans to expand to GBP and other currencies in the future, enabling individuals to send funds in Ugandan Shillings (UGX) to recipients in Uganda. The only requirement for senders is that the recipient possesses a nationally registered mobile phone number.

The platform employs a thorough Know Your Customer (KYC) process for user registration, which includes initial identity verification using passports, followed by secondary verification and sanctions checks. This approach underscores Sindika’s commitment to user safety and compliance with regulations.

With a focus on ease of use and accessibility, Sindika aims to empower users by promoting upward mobility and ensuring customer satisfaction, even for those recipients who may not have access to smartphones.
